Name and history
A House of Angels
Villa Michaelis stands on Wilhelm-Potenberg-Straße, a quiet side street in Ostseebad Zinnowitz (Baltic seaside resort of Zinnowitz). Most of the houses on this street were built in the seaside resort style of the 19th century.
In 2008 the villa was modernised, creating four holiday apartments, each with around 64 m² of living space. It kept its name. When the name was given is not known. The villa is probably named after Michaelmas (Michaelistag) on 29 September, the day on which the angels, and above all the Archangel Michael, are remembered. We like the idea that Villa Michaelis is a House of Angels – which is also why there is an angel in our house emblem.
The true history of the house is known to the Historische Gesellschaft Zinnowitz (Zinnowitz Historical Society). On its website for the Museum im Bahnhof (museum in the railway station), anyone interested in history will find plenty of information about Zinnowitz.

The house
All apartments are non-smoking apartments; pets are not allowed. The property is fenced; guests of both houses share the garden with its seating areas and barbecue lawn; each apartment has its own private parking space. All apartments have Wi-Fi as well as books and games. A starter set of tea towel, dishwasher tablets, dishcloths, washing-up liquid and shower mat is provided. The laundry room (in the service room) can be booked as an extra if needed (€15.00 per 6 nights or part thereof). There is a bike shed for bicycles. Electric cars can be charged for limited periods at a wallbox charger by arrangement (for a fee). Most of the houses on Wilhelm-Potenberg-Straße were built in the seaside resort style of the 19th century; Villa Michaelis was modernised in 2008.
